Send Email Later Feature – Step-by-Step Guide

The Send Email Later feature allows customers to place an order without submitting a prescription immediately. This guide explains the complete workflow, including admin configuration, secure upload link emails, prescription upload, and order updates.

Admin Configuration

• The toggle controls whether customers can use the Email Later option.
• Disabled: Customers cannot submit prescriptions later and must use the normal prescription flow.
• Enabled: Customers receive a secure upload link after order confirmation. The lab email is held until a valid prescription is uploaded.
• A 0.25% commission applies to orders using the Email Later feature. This is a billing-related charge and is not customer-facing.
• Specifies the email address that receives a notification when a customer uploads a prescription.
• The Secure Upload Link Expiration Time sets how long the prescription upload link will remain valid.
• Email Template – Subject: The subject line of the email sent to customers after choosing Email Later.
• Email Template – Message Body: The email sent to customers includes their name, order number, upload link, expiration date, and store name.

Secure Upload Link Email Trigger

When a customer places an order using the “Send Email Later” option, the system automatically sends an email containing a secure link for the customer to upload their prescription.

Upload Form

The customer can use the Secure Upload Link provided in the email to upload their prescription file. Once the customer clicks the link, they are redirected to the upload page, where they can select the prescription file and click “Upload Prescription” to submit it.

After Uploaded

Once the prescription file is successfully uploaded, the page redirects to the above success confirmation page.

Admin Confirmation Email

Upon successful prescription file upload, the admin will receive an email notification confirming that the customer’s prescription file has been successfully uploaded for the respective order ID.

Then New Order Lab Email

Once the admin receives the email, the notification email shown above will be automatically triggered and sent to the lab.

Prescription File Updated into Respective Order

On the Admin Panel Order Details page, the uploaded prescription file will be displayed under the respective order.

"Resend Upload Link" for Failed Email Case

If the customer does not receive or misses the Secure Upload Link Email, the admin can resend the email upon the customer’s request by clicking “Resend Upload Link” on the Admin Panel Order Details page.
